Sometimes....the blogs are long

I can't believe it's been more than a week since I last wrote to all of you on this blog. I guess I need to bow deeply & sincerely apoligize! How could I have been so neglegant? What has been my primarary reason for this absense in blogworld? It's probably connected to a lack of interest. And then, as the days pass by, I start to feel guilty towards all of you never miss a day without clicking on our IP adress. Still, my mind sometimes does not spin, my thoughts do not process and my fingers cannot think of something worth blogging about. Then my biggest & baddest excuse pops up, defeating every pop-up blocker there is: I just don't have the time. -blah- Further now in shame: Jeroen & Martijn have come & gone. They arrived last Saturday early afternoon at Philly airport. Picking them up and bringing them home, we can never miss the fact that it always seems like yesterday, last we saw them! But still, even though it's been in some cases four months, nothing has changed! We always point this out to eachother somehow, I really can't say why. That same day, we started with lunch...Pizza & Sushi! Great combo, by the way. After stuffing ourselves we headed out to the woods not so far from here. Juneau leading the way fearlessly we fallowed the path for sometime crossing 2 little streams where she, without hesitation cooled herself off. Martijn stepped in a wasp-nest aggrigating the occupants and getting stung half a dozen times. May I note the fact that Martijn had not been on American soil for even 4 hours? We headed home and decided to not all fall asleep on the couch but go to the park and while mr. W. & I kicked the football, J&M and Mariana & Ramona ran around the park. After running they joined us in a small match of football, where 2 more casualties fell. -I can't believe I thought to myself I didn't have enough to blog about!- Jeroen & I ran into eachother where I ended up on the ground with blood in my mouth from Jeroen -by accident- elbowing me in the lips. Swollen and spitting out most of the blood we played on and I -which was really stupid, shame, shame- kicked a little too hard at the goalie & happened to knock the wind out of her, yes her, Mariana. So we called it even and headed home. That night, promising eachother to be more careful we headed to Philadelphia with the train to go out! First we stopped to have dinner and then we went to some club. Everyone, I think, got really tired and so we took the taxi home where we had just a few more beers & then off to sleep. Waking the next day from the alram clock we had set, we made ready and piled in the 2 cars for the beach! I had brought the camera, but with J&M, W&M and Ramona & I AND the beach AND the ocean, there just isn't time to take "sweet shots"! I think we were in the water all the time, actually. PLUS: -and this is the highlight of my weekend & again I can't believe I thought I didn't have anything to blog about- WE SAW DOLFINS! We saw Dolfins swimming just off the coast as we were floating on our bodyboards! First time ever for me. J&M and I swam out towards them, but the lifegaurd whisteld us back in before we got to them. They hung around for quite some time and then dissapeared. Amazing! J&M left on Monday morning to do a little roadtrip of the Eastcoast. Boston, Cape Cod, Niagara Falls and then they will return to New Jersey on Friday/Saturday. Monday I took my placement test for Camden County College. Not to determine admition but determine which classes I should need depending what my level is. So basic to college level English & Math. Here are the test results: Math: 35 Elemetary Algebra: 27 -This was to be expected even after a week of studying, because it's been a while for me and this has never been one of my strong points-. English Comprehension: 99! Reading & writing skills: 99! Cool huh? Yesterday Ramona & I took the train to Philly to look for jobs & I was able to drop off 3 applications -Starbucks, ING Direct coffee shop & a high end cafe-. So this has been the account of the days in my absense from blogging. What the rest of the week will hold, I can't say, but it is certain I will be able to squeeze a blog in here and there! O...! I almost forgot! We had planned to play a joke on J&M. When they came we told them our shower wasn't working, so we all had to house down in the backyard for showers. Ofcourse they bought it and even loved it! haha, here's the video:

Sept. 3 I think.
Next step is to have an appointment with a school advisor to see which classes I will be taking.

Ben and Ramona: Yup, I have been checking your blog and even asked your dad last night if he was sure everything was OK with you! ;) Glad to hear it was just because you were having so much fun! Boy do we miss the beach - and you guys. Can't wait til we live closer. Take care and enjoy your new experience with classes in America - our kids will have to have that experience too, soon. Love from all of us, Aunt Carol.P.S. Say hi to Maritjn and Jeroen from us!
